KC Bus Riders

Research & Process

From mapping out issues within KC bus transit to talking with community members, the research and process phase was one that spanned through the whole of each project. Attending meetings and asking questions to bus riders, researching the innerworkings of the bus system in the KC metro, and using collaborative platforms like Canva, allowed me to stay engaged with the community. Though it may be invisible in the final product, it is an integral part of making the community seen in each design.

Let it Bench

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) has been on a missioin to take away benches from Kansas City bus stops, removing them completley or replacing them with leaning “benches.”
This presentation aims to propose to transit decision makers that benches should stay put, arguing that KC bus riders have the right to rest, and therefore the right to have benches.
